Artist Statement

Making art gives me the opportunity to reinvent myself on a daily basis. Each painting, for me, feels like the chance of a lifetime and every time I begin to create, I am challenged to contemplate and experiment anew. I have learned that intuition and impulses during the act of creating are worthy voices to be heard. And I believe that it takes courage to listen and to follow. My artwork is an eclectic mixture in both medium and content. It is ultimately unified by love, life and change. And courage.

Bio

Kristen Powers, a.k.a. Kae Pea, is an artist, illustrator and maker. After many years of designing rubber stamps, teaching workshops and licensing her work for cards, jewelry and fabric, she decided to go to school to pursue a degree in painting and design. She graduated with honors, in May of 2011 from Maryville University, with a B.F.A. in studio art and an emphasis in graphic design. In 2012, things came full circle when she bought RubberMoon Art Stamps.
She now operates, The Moon and The Maker creative space, an art studio, shop, and the home of RubberMoon!
Kae Pea is a firm believer in the magical powers of making art. Her own life has been transformed through living artfully and being open to the call of her imagination. Besides a paintbrush (or stamp) in hand and a blank piece of paper in front of her, there is nothing she loves more than to share and inspire others to follow their own creative dreams...
